Over the last decade or so, marketing and technology have fully converged, bringing together my two core passions. I have built hundreds of websites – personally and professionally – and have worked extensively in digital marketing for companies with budgets in excess of one million dollars across a range of channels. I closely follow developments in Martech, analytics, Big Data, IoT, and most recently, AI for marketers. I also enjoy building chatbots!
My most recent work includes futures – also known as strategic foresight or visioning – which is the process of mapping the future of organisations and technology to 15-40 years out, creating scenarios, and then backcasting to the present. Organisations should be asking: given technology is advancing exponentially, what is one thing that is impossible today, but if possible, changes everything? What capabilities do we need? Where do we want to be in 2025? Or 2035? What is our core vision? Now and then I’m asked to speak at events on this topic.
Beyond this, I enjoy growing businesses, designing technology-driven marketing strategies, and helping others to develop theirs. I always encourage Corporate Social Responsibility – companies help themselves by helping others – and I enjoy being actively involved in non-profit boards, something I shall continue to expand upon. I’m also an avid language learner, working towards fluency in up to eight languages.
If you would like to talk about the future of technology and business, or if you’re looking for a speaker/panelist on these topics, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to connect to smart, good-natured people.
